In India, Ola and Uber are expanding their network with the growing demand for cabs not only tier 1 cities but also tier 2 cities. To curb air pollution and offering eco-friendly mobility solutions. Gensol Mobility, a subsidiary of the Gensol group, has launched the BluSmart cab electric mobility service in New Delhi and the national capital region, making it India’s first electric vehicle fleet launched in New Delhi.
Blusmart cab was founded in October 2018 by Punit Goyal, Anmol Jaggi and Puneet Jaggi. Gensol mobility has invested initially 50 crores as capital expenditure. The company utilized funds for expanding EVs fleet and setting up infrastructure for 65 charging stations. Gensol Mobility, has laid its network of charging stations, which is available within a radius of 5 Kilometer. Each charging station has the capacity to charge, 20 vehicles at a time.
In the first phase, 70 Blu smart cabs have rolled out in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Gurugram. Now blu smart running fleet of approximately 400 cars in Delhi NCR and Mumbai.
According to media, reports, Blu Smart raised has raised $3 million funds from Deepika Padukone via KA Enterprises, JITO Angel Network, Bajaj Capital managing director Sanjiv Bajaj and Rajat Gupta, Survam Partners (the family office of Hero Group’s Suman Kant Munjal), and many other HNI investor.
Blu Smart is going to play a vital role in building an electric mobility ecosystem. It partnered with automotive companies like Tata, Mahindra, Kia Motors and MG Motors for procurement of EVs . Tata Motor and MG motors launched EVs with advance technology and long-range on a single charge. It had plans to add 15,000 electric cars, 2500 chargers on its all-electric mobility sharing platform by 2021.
